The exhibition brings an extraordinary interpretation to the recycling of nature and culture as the continuation of techno trend which started at the end of 80’s. This interactive exhibition is based on creative programming and composed of static installations and it is open to visitors on the last two weeks of the season at Milk Gallery with a cult venue design.

Iranian contemporary illustration since the 60s and 70s has mostly tended toward western illustration. In the past, there were random attempts to revive the old and rich Iranian illustration. However, in recent years, we have witnessed attempts by few young illustrators to use visual elements of the past in a modern way. The recent illustration mostly concentrates on the personal aspect and its artistic and personal aspects are stronger, in a way that we can hardly distinguish between an illustration and a modern painting.

Iranian contemporary illustration has traveled a long way during the last 150 years and it is now part and parcel of Iranian visual arts, beyond doubt.

Jon Burgerman is one of England’s most revered cartoonists. His distinctive style has been seen in pride of place at exhibitions from as far wide as LA, to Shanghai and Melbourne, and he’s designed everything from tees, toys, books, stickers and sneakers to bags, sick bags and video games. Yes, even napkins, cardboards off the street and toilet rolls! He’s also been invited to doodle in places such as hotel rooms, clothing stores and of course numerous exhibitions all over. He’s been featured in many websites and articles, and has also appeared in some genre driven books such as Pictoplasma, Los Logos 3, The Art of Rebellion 2 and Dot Dot Dash.

Tiny Diamonds
The Robo Girls are after the missing crystals/diamonds. Most of the images are them posing with them after gathering them up. Either way its a nice excuse to get lots more colour in there. Which is all I need to get the bright pinks and green out. I think colour is such a big important part of my work.
Another new dimension, are the Diamonds themselves, I am usually paint all curves and smooth lines and it was great to throw in a few harder geometric lines against all that smoothness. Hopefully this will push new works another step into expanding on the characters and how I go about paintings them in the future.

Winner of various international design competitions, member of the most notable international digital art groups, having his works featured in countless magazines, albums and collections, Matei is one of the most appreciated freestyle artists in the international art scenery and definitely the best Romanian digital artist at the present moment. Ever since he switched his artistic medium from paper to the computer and seriously took up digital creation, Matei made his way into becoming a freelance illustrator and an independent graphic designer.

A selection of his work was recently featured at the Illustrative Berlin 07 exhibition, alongside the likes of David Foldvari and Büro Destruct. Matei is also one of the artists selected by Taschen for this summer’s hotly anticipated sequel to ”Illustration Now”, a selection of today’s best illustrating artists from around the world.

Consistently pushing the boundaries of visual communication, his style – a mix of analogue and computer art – is above all pure freestyle, as he himself quotes:
“I try to explore as much as I can. It is a fusion of different media: drawing, vector, photography, manipulation, sometimes even clay modeling [...] To me, inspiration is about having the courage to explore the world, and especially yourself and the processes that take place in your own mind. Inspiration is at its simplest a recombinational process – you have to deal with huge amounts of information that’s all around you, information that only needs to be channeled into something new.”

Dittmars human-animal-plant-energy amalgams contain threads of common elements and colors to express deep levels of union across themes of biology, technology, and consciousness . Her characters are frequently involved in quiet expressive moments, or lounge facing their audience so they can share their inner space.

Dittmars work is featured in the books Dot dot Dash and Mascotte 2, along with numerous magazines and online publications. In conjunction with her artwork she works as an independent character designer and maintains her company Corporatepig, through which she continues to create thousands of unique handmade characters called “My Guys”.

They express their art as an extension of their childhood. Their influences come from: “Pop culture… shopping, supermarkets, TV, toy commercials, LEGO, computer games, the news, magazines. Kai was the only one who grew up with Nintendo to inspire him, the rest of the eBoys lived in East Germany where video games didn’t exist. Their work makes intense use of popular culture and commercial icons, and their style is presented in three-dimensional isometric illustrations filled with robots, cars, guns and girls. Mostly their designs are printed today and not used solely for computer screens anymore, allowing images to get more complex with details.

Their unique style has gained them a cult following among graphic designers worldwide, as well as a long list of commercial clients. Their latest project are plastic Peecol toys with Kidrobot, and soon a new line of wooden toys are to be produced under their own label.
